Why We Built

Villa Seriska Ubud

We wanted to create a place to share what we found beautiful about Indonesia.

A place we’d genuinely choose to stay ourselves.

Villa Seriska Ubud was created through close collaboration between the owner and talented architects, artisans, designers and hospitality professionals, many of them Balinese.

Rather than furnishing the resort from a catalogue, Months were spent travelling across Bali, visiting workshops, meeting artisans and collecting beautiful handmade furniture, natural materials and objects, one piece at a time. Many of the resort’s signature pieces, including the hand-carved teak headboards, were created exclusively for Villa Seriska Ubud through close collaboration with local artisans.

The result isn’t a recreation of one traditional style. It’s a home that brings together influences from across Indonesia—Sumatran ironwood roofs, Balinese carving, bamboo architecture and rustic natural materials—in a way that felt true to the vision of the resort.

The People Behind Villa Seriska

Villa Seriska Ubud was built by many talented hands, each bringing their own knowledge, creativity and craftsmanship to the project.

Meet the bamboo architect who shaped the resort’s distinctive structures, the artisans who hand-carved our signature teak pieces, the designers and makers who helped define the interiors, and the hospitality team who continue to share the warmth of Bali with every guest.

Fang.

For Fang, Villa Seriska Ubud became a way to share many of the things she found beautiful about Indonesia—from traditional craftsmanship and natural materials to the warmth of Balinese hospitality.

Working alongside artisans, architects and makers throughout the project, Audrey designed the resort’s signature teak headboards, spent months visiting workshops across Bali to source furniture and handmade objects, and remained closely involved in shaping the atmosphere and countless details throughout the property.
